Mad Scientist Blueprints

The Blueprint

Blueprints must be laid out in the following manner.

Theory: The theory must be explained; it can be unusual and weird but it has to make some sort of twisted (or even not twisted) sense. This is where you get to justify your science concentrations so that you can use them to earn extra card draws when creating the blueprint. You need to tag the points where those concentrations apply.

Blueprint: This requires a Mad Science roll and a card draw. If successful, this defines the basic requirements of the item designed on the blueprint, including the Tinkerin' roll needed to create the item, its base reliability, and the rules governing the item once it's made.

Components: The list of required components to build the device. This is largely based on the theory.

An Example Blueprint

Flamethrower

NOTE: Use four plus signs to indent your blueprint to the proper degree.

Theory: A gun with a hose running to a tank that contains a pressurized combustible fuel. When the trigger of the gun is pulled, it discharges a stream of fire from the gun. A selector dial controls the amount of flame that is discharged in one shot.

Blueprint: Straight; Construction TN 11; 1d6 Days. This Mad Scientist got two raises on the Mad Science roll, so the base Reliability on this blueprint is 14. Raises on the Tinkerin' roll to construct it might increase the reliability further.

Components: A tank capable of holding a high pressure fuel, a sturdy tube, a hose, something to serve as a handle and stock on the "gun" portion, and the fuel itself.

Blueprint List

Acid Gun

Theory: Based on the Smith and Robard's design, the gun fires a pressurized stream of acid at foes.

Blueprint:

Components: Gun casing, pressurized tank, acid, resistant coating, pump

Concentrations: Science (General); Science (Chemistry); Science (Biology); Science (Physics); Science (Metallurgy); Science (Engineering).

Reliability: 16

Superior Armor Piercing Bullets

Theory: A stronger bullet compared to Smith & Robard's Armor piercing bullets, these .45 rifle shells are more durable and can pierce through stronger armor then their counterpart.

Blueprint: Three of a kind; Construction TN 9; 1-10 hours.

Components: Casing, reinforced tip, ghost rock enhanced (own design from own materials). $50

Concentrations: Science (General); Science (Chemistry); Science (Physics); Science (Metallurgy); Science (Geology); Science (Engineering).

Reliability: 16

Grappling Gun

Theory: A gun that fires a strong cone attached to a cable. After a few moments from firing, the cone expands out into a hook to grapple into nearby objects. By flicking a switch, the cable retracts back into the gun. Strong enough to reel yourself in.

Blueprints: Three of a kind; Construction TN 9; 1-10 hours.

Components: Gun casing, strong hard to break cable (own design), Reinforced coned tip, various mechanical pulleys and mechanisms, time device, automatic winch, ghost rock.

Concentrations: Science (General); Science (Geology); Science (Metallurgy); Science (Physics); Science (Engineering); Science (Chemistry).

Base Reliability: 12

Better-than-those-Hacks-Smith-And-Robard's Samson Pills

Theory: Pills that supercharge the body's own bodily functions, drastically increasing muscle mass, reactions, and supercharging the body's own healing factor.

Blueprints:

Components: Digestible capsule, revitalizing herbs, healthy minerals, special revitalizing brew of my own concoction, mystical herbs used by various Indians.

Concentrations: Science (General); Science (Geology); Science (Chemistry); Science (Engineering); Science (Alchemy); Science (Biology); Science (Parapsychology)

Super Better Awesome Bullet Armor THAT'S BETTER THAN THOSE HACKS!!!

Theory: Reinvention of the bullet proof armor in order to increase mobility as well as offering protection.

Blueprints: Three of a kind, Construction TN 9; 1-10 hours ($400 for body, $150 for head)

Components: Alchemy strengthened metal of my own design, fluorescent coating for paint job.

Concentrations: Science (General); Science (Metallurgy); Science (Engineering); Science (Alchemy); Science (Chemistry); Science (Geology)

Base Reliability: 14
