David Jackson

History and Relationships
You are David Jackson, a priest who grew up in Raleigh. Your father was pretty well off, and you lived an easy life. You received your "call" when you were sixteen and have since become a full fledged priest. You have also studied medicine and can even administer basic surgery.

Your other interests include ancient buildings and religeous texts. You always wanted to explore the old places of the world and travel.

At age eighteen, you went to college in Raleigh. You met several others there over the course of two years who shared your interests. The six of you made plans to explore all of the ancient places of the world, from old castles in England to the pyramids at Giza. Perhaps your dreams of finding important artifacts were delusions of granduer, but you'd certainly have fun looking for them.

Edward Plunkett
He is a friendly, if a little reckless. You tend to think he is a bit immature sometimes, but occasionally he surprises you. You sometimes wish he'd follow the straight and narrow a bit more, but he's generally a decent human being.

Sarah Johnson
Sarah is a tomboy and not at all a proper young lady. You like her, but her flirting makes you uncomfortable. You might consider a relationship with her if she were less of a tomboy and acted more properly.

James Garvey
Edward's best friend. James is a good natured man and tends to be somewhat more mature than Edward. You know that you can count on James in a tight spot.

Ryu Shinjo
A quiet man from Japan. You like him; he seems to have good principles and possesses a lot of discipline. You enjoy his cooking, too—you never knew that Japanese food was so good.

Emily Knights
Sarah's quieter best friend. She's very smart and knows a lot of history. She acts more like a proper young lady should. She also knows a bit of basic first aid if you should become incapacitated.

The Basics
In comparison to the other characters, David has…

Average hit points
Average melee fighting capability
Average ranged fighting capability
A decent selection of skills (and he is the master of Treat Injury)
Very high Sanity

David begins with a large crucifix (which can be wielded as a small club), two bottles of Blood Wine that can be used to heal injuries (ask for tags for these), and one vial of holy water (ask for the tag for this, too). He also has a surgery kit, which allows him to perform surgery with his Treat Injury skill.

Combat Tactics
David is equally average at both ranged and melee fighting. In most cases, it is probably best that he do whatever the group is lacking (ie, ranged fighting if characters such as Edward, James or Ryu are present and melee fighting if Sarah and Emily are present).

David has the Point Blank Shot feat, which will gives him a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls if his target is within 30 feet (6 squares). He also has Precise Shot, which allows him to fire into a melee situation without the usual -4 penalty.

David has the Remain Conscious ability, which will allow him to remain awake when reduced to negative hit points. If reduced to -13 hit points, he will die. While in negative hit points, David is limited to either a Standard Action or a Move Action (but not both) in a given round.

David has lots of Sanity points and a very high Will save, which means that he is highly resistant to attacks that may sap his Sanity.

Skills
David has immense skill with Treat Injury. He can, as a standard action, restore 1d4 hit points to a character once per day, or stabilize a character who is bleeding to death (DC 15 – but David cannot fail this, even on a natural 1!). He can also give long term care to a character to increase their healing rate (if they rest), or remove the Dazed, Stunned, or Unconscious conditions.

David can also perform Surgery, which requires 1d4 hours and a DC 20 Treat Injury check. It restores 1d6 hit points per character level (3d6 hit points to any of the characters in the group). However, the target is also fatigued for 24 hours, minus 2 hours per point that David exceeded 20 on his Treat Injury check (ie, a result of 28 would mean that the target was fatigued for 24 – 16 hours, or 8 hours).

Davids other skills are largely made up of Knowledge skills (Arcane Lore, Theology, History), which allow you to ask questions to the GM and, with a high enough roll, receive answers.
